School Laptop Scheme
St Mary’s School has negotiated competitive arrangements to allow parents or guardians to acquire a laptop computer for pupils that then can be used to access the full range of network facilities at St Mary’s. These arrangements have been made with Ergo, a company which specialises in the supply and support of laptop computers to students. The parents are offered a choice of 2 different models with different specifications and price ranges. Benefits of the scheme include:
- 3 years licensing on Windows XP and any upgrades
- 3 years licensing on Office 2007, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and any upgrades
- Various subject related software
- 3 years manufacturer’s warranty
- 3 years insurance (accidental damage & theft)
- Free & Fast filtered Internet Access
- Video Streaming
- Email (internal & world-wide)
- CD ROM Sharing
- File Back-up and Storage
- Network Printing
- Virus Software Management
- Wireless Network Access in most places in the School
- Backup and support from the school ICT department and supplier
