BBC outside broadcast wagon outside Rose TheatreOn 14 October, St Mary’s welcomed BBC Radio 4 to the Rose Theatre for the live broadcast of Any Questions.  The arrival of the large Outside Broadcast wagon caused great excitement, and by six o’clock, the theatre was set up with desks, microphones and Radio 4 corporate banners. Jonathan Dimbleby was in the chair, and the panel consisted of Chris Grayling, Minister of State at the Department of Work and Pensions, Rita Clifton, UK Chairman of Interbrand, Chuka Umunna, Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Innovation, and Kevin Maguire, Associate Editor of the Daily Mirror.

In an auditorium mainly filled with members of the general public, but with several representatives of St Mary’s, five questions were asked on air, two by members of the Sixth Form: Beatrice Cadwallader and Francesca Dytor, and two by members of St Mary’s staff: Miss Carr and Mrs Carlsson. It was a fascinating and enjoyable experience for all who attended.
