Matilda

On the ‘Dahlicious’ Babthorpe weekend, Years 7 and 8 were privileged to meet the West End’s very own Matilda, Kerry Ingram. Kerry is twelve years old and is one of the four girls that play Matilda. All of the Maltildas won the Olivier award for best actress in a musical. The Olivier award is a very prestigious award and Kerry brought in her award to show us. We all gathered in the common room and asked intriguing questions that Kerry then answered. Some of the questions asked were very interesting such as, ‘How long are you on stage for?’ and ‘Do you forget your lines, and if so, what happens?’ Everyone had a thoroughly good time, including all the staff and we all learned a lot about theatre life and being on stage. Kerry also brought along a CD with all the songs in the show and we listened to some of the favourites, such as ‘Miracle’ and ‘Naughty’. We would all like to thank Kerry for coming along and also to Mrs West and Miss Horwood for organising this occasion for us.
