The Ambassadors scheme is in its infancy but is growing at an encouraging pace. It was felt that with many Committee-organised AOGA events being held in London or at St Mary’s, some Old Girls living further afield or abroad struggled to attend them. The concept of passing on the AOGA baton to local Ambassadors was born.
AOGA Ambassadors are to be found across the United Kingdom and in many countries around the world. They are on hand to:

  • Act as a source of local information to Old Girls who might be visiting their “patch”, are considering moving to that part of the country/world or who might find themselves in need of assistance and advice. This information includes local schools, local churches, local nurseries, local medical resources as well as the names and contact details of other Old Girls nearby who might be able to help.

  • Co-ordinate one gathering a year of local Old Girls living within their geographic area. These gatherings could range from a coffee morning - to a special Mass - to a garden party; the aim being to bring together former pupils of all generations and to put Old Girls in touch with each other at a local level.

  • Update interested parties about St Mary’s and to be able to answer any questions that Old Girls may have about admissions procedures, bursaries and scholarships as well development plans as and when they arise.

The Ambassadors look forward to hearing from all Old Girls - please feel free to make contact with any one of them. Their names are listed below.

In return, should you receive an invitation from an Ambassador to a local event, we hope that you will choose to reply and to attend!

The big vision is to have an AOGA Ambassador in most parts of the country and abroad in the not too distant future, so if you would like to join the team, please contact the AOGA Office.
